Industrial Mission in Derbyshire: I.M.D. is a Local Ecumenical Partnership, sponsored by Churches Together in Derbyshire to carry forward the ministry of the Church in relation to Work and the Workplace.  It is the body responsible for accrediting clergy and authorised laity, on behalf of the Bishop and Church Leaders, to visit and minister to individual workplaces. Appointments are made in conjunction with employers. The Partnership is also engaged in helping local churches make the link between faith and work.

The Derbyshire Churches Partnership with The Church of North India began in 1977 and involves the Anglican, Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches in Derbyshire. It was to be a genuine partnership in which each partner could contribute equally, sharing insights, ideas, experiences, successes and failures, in order to foster mutual understanding and support. The Partnership was inaugurated in a service in Derby Cathedral on Saturday 21st May 1977 when Bishop Nazir, the Moderator of the Church of North India, spoke of the Church as a world-wide family and welcomed this initiative as an imaginative contribution to its togetherness. He celebrated the Eucharist using a Church of North India liturgy, a deeply significant and moving occasion.

The University of Derby Chaplaincy offers support and care to staff and students at the University at the Derby and Buxton campuses.
