Good Friday
on the streets
of Derbyshire

On Good Friday 2010 a number of our Churches Together groups staged dramatic open-air re-enactments of the events of that Good Friday, taking compelling drama into local shopping centres and High Streets.

Here are some of the photos they sent in to us.

Use the arrows below the pictures to scroll through each set, or click on any of the thumbnail pictures.

If you click on the little arrowed icon in the bottom right of the set you will get a full-screen image.

The Ilkeston (IACT) Good Friday Walk of Witness. They decided this year that they couldn't resource the five-yearly costumed passion play, but each year they develop the basic plan of a silent walk with dramatised scenes in a slightly different way.

Andy Ward of St Augustines Derby and Andrew Watson provided these p[ictures of  the combined Normanton Churches’ Easter Procession in the multi-racial heart of Derby. This is the third year that this has been staged. After the various Easter morning services, several hundred local Christians processed over a route covering much of the local area, and the event ended with a short service at the New Life Church on Normanton Road.
